Camellia Walks

Each winter, Middleton Place’s gardens bloom with thousands of camellias, creating a stunning display of color and history. Guided 11:00 a.m. Camellia Walks showcase rare and historic varieties, including the 1786 Reine des Fleurs, bringing the stories of this extraordinary collection to life.
Garden Lights at Middleton Place

On select evenings, explore the gardens after dark as colorful light installations illuminate America’s Oldest Landscaped Gardens—perfectly timed with peak camellia season. Stroll glowing pathways, wander through creatively lit garden rooms, and take in highlights like the Camellia Allée and the Sundial Garden overlooking the Ashley River. It’s a rare chance to experience Middleton Place’s history, beauty, and Lowcountry landscape in a completely new way.
Black History Month at Boone Hall
When: Sunday, February 1 - Saturday, February 28, 2027
Where: Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens | 1235 Long Point Road, Mount Pleasant
Boone Hall Plantation is offering a special Black History Month season pass for $50 which will give the purchaser the ability to visit as many days as they choose between February 1st and the 25th. The month will include a weekend speaker series and special celebration displays.
Weekend Wine-Down
When: Every Saturday | 10:00am-5:00pm
Where: Deep Water Vineyard | 6775 Bears Bluff Road, Wadmalaw Island
The weekly Wine-Down happens every Saturday, rain or shine. Guests can enjoy hourly tastings of six wines with a souvenir glass for $15, along with a variety of drinks from the patio bar, including wine slushies, meads, Bloody Marys made with jalapeño wine, and mimosas. Each event features a food truck and live music, with updates on the day’s lineup available on-site.
Lowcountry Oyster Festival

Love oysters? If so, grab your oyster knives and look no further than this year’s Lowcountry Oyster Festival. Claiming to be the world’s largest oyster festival, this family-friendly event features live music, shucking and eating contests, imported beers, a children’s area, a food court, and—best of all—45,000 pounds of oysters! First Friday Artwalk

Where: Various Locations in Downtown Charleston
One of Charleston’s best traditions, First Friday Artwalks are a way of debuting the city’s vibrant art scene. This special occasion occurs on the first Friday of every month (excluding January and July) and highlights dozens of art galleries and studios across the entire city. This is your chance to check out local art studios and mingle with local artists.
Espresso Martini Festival

The Espresso Martini Festival returns Saturday, February 7, 2026, with two sessions and a full lineup of Charleston’s best bartenders, restaurants, vendors, and entertainment.
Save the Light Half Marathon & 5K Run/Walk

Where: Folly Beach Pier | 101 E Arctic Avenue, Folly Beach
The Morris Island Lighthouse Run features a USATF-certified half-marathon and 5K supporting Save The Light’s mission to preserve the historic lighthouse. Both races start and finish near Folly Beach Pier, with the half-marathon for runners and the 5K open to runners and walkers.
2nd Sunday on King Street
When: Sunday, February 14, 2026 | 12:00-5:00pm
Where: King Street from Queen to Calhoun Street
Every second Sunday of the month from noon until 5 pm, the City of Charleston shuts down King Street from Queen to Calhoun to through traffic. In addition, no cars are allowed to park, giving pedestrians the ability to stroll through the street and visit businesses they might not have known about. There are also artists displaying their work on the street and unique food vendors tempting guests with their fare.
Southeastern Wildlife Exposition (SEWE)
When: Friday, February 12-Sunday, February 14, 2027

SEWE is the largest event of its kind in the United States that celebrates wildlife and nature through fine art, live entertainment, and special events. Be sure to visit the SEWE Marketplace located inside the Gaillard Center. There, you’ll find dozens of artisans, craftsmen, and tastemakers from across the country! More information coming soon!
International Wine & Sweets Stroll

Where: Magnolia Plantation and Gardens | 3550 Ashley River Road, Charleston
The International Wine and Sweets Stroll returns as one of Charleston’s most anticipated Valentine’s season events. Set among the iconic gardens of Magnolia, the evening invites guests to stroll beneath the live oaks while sampling a thoughtfully curated selection of international wines paired with pastries and chocolates from around the world. Live music fills the gardens, and guests can explore the art of camellia waxing, all while taking in Magnolia’s timeless beauty.
Sea & Sand Festival

Celebrating its 33rd year, the annual Sea & Sand Festival, Folly Beach’s longest-running event, returns for a weekend of family-friendly fun. Stretching from Folly River Park to the beach, the festivities will feature an artisan street fair and some lively sand competitions on Sunday.
Colour of Music Festival

The Colour of Music Festival celebrates the legacy and impact of Black classical composers and performers, from 18th-century figures like Le Chevalier de Saint-Georges to contemporary artists. Since 2013, the festival has showcased performances in Charleston and beyond, highlighting the historical and cultural contributions of Black musicians on American and global stages.
