I am originally from outside of Philadelphia, but I have been in Charleston for 36 years. So, I’m pretty much “home grown”. To call this city home is something I am proud of. With the amazing history, culture, sites, beautiful beaches and friendly people, it’s hard not to fall in love with Charleston. You can find me anywhere the water hits the edge, soaking up the sun and just enjoying the Beautiful Charleston scenery.

I am excited for this amazing opportunity as the newest Innkeeper of The John Rutledge House Inn. I look forward to this journey and growth with the Amazing Charming Inns family!

Assistant Innkeeper

Gabby Martin

Gabby has been working for Charming Inns since February of 2023 and has been in hospitality for more than a decade. Gabby was born in Buffalo, New York, but her parents moved back to Charleston area when she was six months old—she has been here ever since. Gabby’s favorite part of her job is being able to talk one-on-one with the guests and her coworkers. History and ghosts tours are her favorites parts of living in Charleston!

Jim O'Neill

Jim has been working for Charming Inns for just over 8.5 years and has been in the hospitality industry on and off since he was 19 years old. Jim was born in Boston, MA and has lived in NY, FL, CA, Ireland, Spain, Italy, and San Juan PR. He moved to Charleston over 9 years ago. Jim loves working at John Rutledge House because of the history and the amazing staff and guests. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and camping with his dog—and when he can—art, photography, and massage therapy. He also loves to do anything in or around the water in Charleston. Jim considers himself an open book and enjoys sharing about his life with others.

John Duncan

John has been working for Charming Inns for almost three years and has been in the hospitality industry for 40 years. He moved to Charleston 25 years ago from Kansas City, MO. John’s favorite part of working at Charming Inns is his love of meeting people from all parts of the world and telling them about the “charms” of Charleston. In his free time, John works out of his home as an artist.
